Super Signs was founded by Scott Mackinnon in 1987 and has grown into one of Perth's most capable full-service signage companies - still Perth-owned and Perth-run, nearly four decades on. What started as a small local sign shop has become a business trusted by builders, retailers, property developers and household-name brands across Western Australia.
The company is now run by Scott's son, Matt Mackinnon, carrying that same hands-on, Perth-owned approach into its next chapter. Under his lead, Super Signs continues to grow and create - investing in new equipment and capability rather than standing still on nearly 40 years of reputation.
Today, we operate out of our own workshop at 11 Macadam Place, Balcatta - the same home base pictured here - where design, printing, fabrication and installation all happen under one roof. That's a rare combination in the Perth signage industry, where many companies outsource the parts they can't do in-house. We built our own capability instead, so we can control quality and turnaround from the first sketch to the final install.
Every job - whether it's a single corflute board or a full commercial fit-out - runs through the same in-house workshop and equipment: our CNC router, Aristo flatbed, laser cutter, contour cutter and letter bender. We create every job in house, which is how we maintain our Industry Leading standards and rapid turnaround.
Our print production runs on HP Latex Ink technology - water-based, low-odour inks without the hazard warnings that come with traditional solvent or UV-cured inks. Both our HP Latex 1500 (3.2m super-wide) and HP Latex 830 Printer Series machines print with inks that are UL ECOLOGO® certified and UL GREENGUARD Gold certified - GREENGUARD Gold specifically means the finished prints are safe for full indoor use, including schools, healthcare facilities and other sensitive environments.
The HP Latex 830 Printer Series carries further environmental credentials: ENERGY STAR® certified, EPEAT Gold rated, and meeting the AgBB criteria and French VOC A+ rating for indoor air quality. Both printers' hardware is REACH and RoHS compliant, and we participate in HP's Planet Partners program for ink cartridge and printhead recycling.
